Altaf Tyrewala was born in January 1977 is an Indian author. He has authored No God In Sight and one story in Mumbai Noir (an anthology of short stories). He has also edited Mumbai Noir.
Altaf's story in Mumbai Noir is titled The Watchman, which is set in Worli. "It's the story of a watchman who has been observing things day in and day out and he feels that he has found a pattern," Altaf comments on his story in the book.
Altaf has a degree in advertising and marketing from New York before he came back to Mumbai in 1999 to begin work on No God in Sight. The novel has been translated into Marathi, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Dutch.
Altaf's work has even been hailed as "sophisticated and universal" by many critics.
